Arriving in the US in 1990, the Espinoza Brothers, Patricio, Carlos and Javier embarked on their dreams of starting their own businesses. While learning the language and being exposed to the plethora of diverse cultures in New York, the brothers drew inspiration from their home country, Ecuador, in opening Tio Pio. In addition to the rotisserie chicken, other menu items include sweet plantains, salads, soups, salmon and pernil.

Established in 2003, Tio Pio has been a longstanding establishment within the MetroTech community in Brooklyn. This thriving restaurant brought irresistible flavors to the neighborhood through its famous rotisserie chicken, beans and rice. Even in the midst of the 2020 global pandemic, Tio Pio was there to support the community with delivery and take-out meals. Our new location, Tio Pio East will bring the same beloved flavors to the Manhattan community.
In the nearly two decades since its opening, Tio Pio has remained committed to providing simply made but delicious foods to all of its guests, regulars and new visitors alike. Many things have changed, but Tio Pio's goal for people to "eat healthy, be happy" remains the same.
Tio Pio is conveniently located in the heart of MetroTech and just a few blocks away from the A,C,F,R,2,3 subway lines. Our newest location, Tio Pio East, is just a short walk from Union Square, Stuyvesant Square Park and walking distance from 4,5,6,L,N,Q,R,W subway lines.
